Born in Lugansk (Ukraine), Kristina started to sing and play piano at an early age. Growing up in a family of music lovers and surrounded by vinyl of different genres of music, it wasn’t a surprise she’s gonna take a music path.
After her graduation from Lugansk College of Music (specializing in jazz voice and jazz piano), she goes to Moscow to continue her musical education at Gnesins Music Academy. Being very homesick, she listens to Ukrainian folk music, remembering how her family would sing these lullabies and tell stories. Kristina realizes that some part of her is in there and besides singing world-famous jazz standards, she begins to write her own music and crafts jazz arrangements of the music from her childhood.
After her graduation from Gnesins Music Academy in Moscow, Kristina moves to Saint Petersburg, searching for a new musical environment and inspiration. There she collaborates with local and international musicians, including David Gibson, John Marshall, and Todd Herbert. From 2015 to 2019 she tours as an invited singer with John Davis Trio (NYC) across Russia.
In 2018 she presented her original music at the Riga Jazz Stage Contest, where she won the first prize and a special award from Raimond Pauls. Moreover, she is invited to perform at Dizzy's Club (Jazz at Lincoln Center, NYC), Ronnie Scott’s (London) and to take part in the following festivals: Jazz Across Borders, International Jazz Day (Saint-Petersburg), Jazztime (Estonia), Rigas Ritmi (Latvia).
After receiving rave reviews and a big interest in her music, the boost of confidence led to the creation of her debut recording “Hristya v Namysti”. In June 2019 Kristina starts a crowdfunding company for recording and with big support from people all over Russia and Ukraine she releases an album «Hristya v Namysti» (her take on Ukrainian folk songs with the infusion of jazz, including original songs). Soon after its release, it was included in the European Jazz Media Chart. In March 2020 Kristina performs at the «Jazz Triumph», where she shares the stage with Avishai Cohen.
The rebellious spirit and deeply rooted desire to extend the boundaries of knowledge and experience make her go to Amsterdam and get a master’s degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. During her studying she takes a part in Keep an Eye competition; performs with her project at the Jazz Fest Amsterdam; Rough Diamonds Sessions in Bimhuis; VPRO Vrije Geluiden, and plays with such great musicians as Harmen Fraanje and Mike del Ferro.
